Silver Chrisitan Rings

>> Thursday, December 24, 2009

Silver Christian rings are very popular year round and at no time is this more true than in the gift giving time around Christmas day. As families get together to celebrate the birth of Jesus gift giving has become part of the tradition for countless families for generations. Inspired be the original three old wise men of yesteryear that brought gifts of gold, mur, and frankincense to celebrate the birth of Christ to the Virgin Mary in the little town of Bethlehem.

Jewelry, traditionally thought of as a gift only for women, has becoming increasing popular with men. Men have always worn wedding rings to symbolize their life long marriage vows and now in the twenty-first century when the term metro-sexual is part of the common vernacular it is not uncommon to see men of all persuasions wearing christian necklaces or cross rings to show the world their faith. For these reasons rings have become a much more common gift for men than in generations past.

While rings are almost always made to be worn comfortably on the ring finger many people prefer to put them around chains and wear them around their neck in what is often called wearing a necklace ring or a ring on a necklace. For many people this is a way to better show off the ring they are proud of wearing. A piece of jewelry can often have very sentimental or person feelings attached to it that go way beyond simply being a piece of metal.

Wearing the same ring daily can be the one item that people (men and women) wear daily. Perhaps the only other example of a style that is constantly worn regardless of the complimenting wardrobe is a hair style. For these reasons people often indulge when it comes to spending money on silver rings (or hairstyles for that matter). Many concerned and thrifty shoppers think about the price per use. Buying a $200 dress that will be worn once has a cost per use price of $200. Buying a $200 pair of jeans that will be worn one hundred times has a cost per use price of only $2 per use. Numerous other examples are abundant. Shoes are a classic example. A $100 pair of shoes may be worn five hundred times. Breaking it down and doing the math the numbers work out to just twenty cents per wear or use. When comparing twenty cents per wear to one hundred dollars per wear/use (with the aforementioned dress) it's easy to see why smart shoppers don't just look at price tags, they think about how much use or utility can be had from the product.

The great thing about jewelry whether it is silver christian rings or gold christian necklaces is that these keepsakes don't depreciate in value and literally can last multiple lifetimes. It is very common for people to pass Christian jewelry down from generation to generation. Expensive pieces may even be accounted for in wills whereas more common but perhaps equally meaningful pieces are simply passed down by hand with love. There are numerous ring styles that are passed on through lineage. Some very old classic pieces are passed along as treasures while other items like spoon rings may very well begin a brand new tradition that will carry on a legacy and set of ideals that could be passed along from mother to daughter for centuries.

Deciding on a ring or picking the right Christian necklace can be difficult. The difficulty largely lies in the fact that there are so many excellent choices out there that it is very hard to pick a definitive favorite. Having too many great choices is a good problem to have and one that most of should wish we had to deal with more often. When making a decision on what to buy for a loved one consider the whole gambit of choices from a cross ring to any number of Christian fish jewelry items. The two most important factors to keep in mind are what the person you are buying for likes and what they don't have. While common sense will dictate that what they have and what they like should be the same thing this is not always the case. Tastes and preferences change over time. In addition the previously unattainable item may be on someone's wish list and this may be why it's not yet in their possession. Regardless of what item you decide on whether it is silver Christian rings or just a run of the mill Christian necklace keep in mind that it's the thought that counts.

Chrisitan Fish Jewelry

>> Friday, November 6, 2009

Christian fish jewelry has long been popular amongst Christians of all denominations. The fish symbolizes the moral practicality that Jesus preached during his short time on Earth. While only walking amongst us for thirty-three short years Christ left a profound influence on every man, woman, and child that he came in contact with. His message of love and peace were profoundly influencing in shaping countless lives and the tradition continues to this very day. Other than the cross few items symbolize the positive impact that Jesus had on humanity better than the Christian fish. Often worn as jewelry today the Christian fish is an emblem that reminds us that Christ was a man with a message and those messages often were taught in ways that leave a lasting impression through stories that were recording in the Holy Bible and passed down for generations. The key to salvation is accepting Jesus into your heart and allowing him to wash you clean of your sins. In order to be truly saved you must sincerely believe in your heart that Jesus is the king of men and only welcoming him into your heart will wash you free of your sins and secure your place in the kingdom of God. The scripture tells us that our God is a loving and forgiving God.
Many newer Christians may not be familiar with the story of the why Christian Fish Jewelry is as popular as it is today. Amongst all the other keepsakes, necklaces, pendants, rings, and all other adorning accessories the fish symbol is one unique to the Christian faith.

Maybe you've heard that Jesus referred to as a fisherman of men. There's not surprisingly a story behind how He earned that title. It's a fitting classic moniker that is as true today as it was in ancient times approximately two thousand years ago. During the time Jesus Christ spent on Earth he performed many miracles including turning water into wine, walking on water, healing the sick, and resurrecting from the dead three days after his crucifixion. One of the notable things that he did in his day was famously state, "If you give a man a fish he'll eat for a day, if you teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime." With this famous quote Christ spoke to his generosity, teaching, and sensibility when it came to feeding the hungry. The message was clear that empowerment was achieved through education and accountability. Those looking for a handout would constantly be condemned to a life of always wondering where their next meal would come from. However, those fortunate enough to learn a trade like fishing would be able to provide for their family for all of time. This saying about teaching a man to fish has been translated into many different languages and can be applied to any topic in our modern lives. The preachings of Jesus were as true in his day as they are in ours.

Jesus was called the fisherman of men because of the way that he brought people together and harvested their souls for good the way a fisherman catches fish in a net. The masses were attracted to Christ's loving ways and the simple emblem of a fish depicted above in both gold and silver has been used to symbolize this promise that Christ will continue to be our one true Lord and savior throughout time. It is in his name that we find happiness and hope. Without his light we are in the dark. Christian fish jewelry has been particularly popular amongst the youth culture that are looking for a brighter for loving symbol of their faith than the traditional cross. The fish symbol representing life and nourishment and reminds of us the good that God's son did while on Earth. The story of the Christian fish may be an old one but it certainly is not one that will be going away any time soon. John 3:16 reminds us that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Keep this bible verse close to your hear and remember the story of Jesus teaching men to fish and in doing so giving them life the next time you see Christian fish jewelry of any kind.

Picking A Christian Necklace

>> Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Choosing a Christian necklace can be a more difficult decision than many people first realize.

Although a traditional Christian cross showing Jesus' crucifixion is the common image that most of us first think of there are in fact many different choices to choose from. In this blog I'll try to cover all of the Christian jewelry gifts that are out there and not just cross necklaces. This includes Catholic and Christian jewelry such as fish necklaces, true love waits rings, rosary necklaces, Christian bracelets, charms, crucifix medallions from the Byzantine era, pewter dove necklaces, and many others both large and small.

You have to ask yourself what would others wear and what do I want to wear? Think about both traditional church looks and more modern styles of jewelry and accessories. It's important to remember that style is unique for everyone and that while there are some basic rules for knowing what to wear the choices are going to be mostly up to you. Talk to members of your church about what they think you look the best in. While one person might wear an outfit that is best complimented with a Christian charm another woman's attire might be best suited for a more orthodox necklace. The decision is an individual one that should be made with the input of trusted loved ones. Thanks to the internet and shopping online for Christian jewelry it's never been easier to show pictures of pieces to relatives and friends who live far away. You can email pictures of different pieces to people far away and get their opinions on what looks best. Keep in mind that when making a decision to buy there's no substitute for wearing an item for a friend, family member, boyfriend, or girlfriend to see in person. Many times you'll want to wear multiple pieces of jewelry with certain outfits. Don't forget that this can be expensive but if you shop smart you should be able to look good on a budget. Necklaces can be received or given as gifts and many jewelry items are not only for wearing now but can be worn for years and sometimes even passed down for generations. Talk to parents and other relatives about family heirlooms that have been passed down for generations. Don't forget to talk to family members before committing to a necklace, ring, bracelet, pendant or any other similar item that you wear to show your faith.

Think about the type of material for the necklace. There are lots of choices for the chain and whatever decorations you choose. 14k Gold, sterling silver, platinum, diamond, and beads are just some of the choices. Some are shiny and some are rustic and have a handcrafted style. Often times expensive and inexpensive or cheap Christian jewelry look very similar. In fact many people can't tell with their naked eye the difference between what's real and what's fake jewelry. Gold is a very popular choice and you'll hear about it as 10 karat, 14 karat, 18 karat, and 24 karat. Sometimes these are written as 10k, 14k, 18k, and 24k. All gold jewelry of any kind of it's earrings or charms or anything else that is gold should have a stamp or imprint that says what karat the gold is. Look for this when shopping. Feel free to ask sales people about what they think. Sales women in jewelry stores like the ones in malls that include Zales and Jared know all about fashion and what looks best. Give the salesperson a description about the person you're buying for if it's a gift and the person you're buying for can't be with you for the purchase. This way it'll be a surprise. Sometimes people have poetry on their jewelry and that's something you might want to. Don't be too worried about this right now. You should think about it though because this could influence what sized jewelry to get because you'll have to make sure your message fits on it. Maybe you have a personalized message that you want to put on it. If you can't think of anything good trying searching for a good message on the internet and ask your friends, family, and people at school and church what they think you should do. Does the person you're buying it for have a favorite bible verse? Bible verses are very popular for Christian necklaces and Christian jewelry in general. Think about an uplifting verse, maybe one that makes your friend, husband, or wife smile. If you don't know many lines from the Bible talk to your priest or pastor about what there favorites are. Songs from hymns are good ideas too. Many times these songs have really good messages about the Lord. Of course you don't have to put an entire hymn on one piece of jewelry. This probably wouldn't fit unless the song was really short. Think about the best verse and use just a portion of the song. In the end your personal message doesn't have to be amazing (Amazing Grace could be a good song to pick some words from for the personalized engraving) it's the thought that counts when giving a gift. Your effort and thought will be appreciated. The person you're giving the gift to will understand and know that you did your very best when shopping for them and it will make them happy just knowing that you were thinking about them and wanted to do something nice for them.

Sometimes you'll have to think about if you want the jewelry to be handcrafted or handmade. This can be bought or even jewelry you made yourself. There are ways to learn how to make your own and it isn't as hard as you think. Just stick with it and you'll be surprised what you can make. Most of the time when people make their own crosses they use more wood and beads and less gold, sterling silver, platinum, etc. The inexpensive pieces are the best for beginners because they're learning what's best. The crucifix is a good way to start because it's simpler to make than doves or religious things that have to do with the Pope and Vatican City. We can't all start out as Michelangelo painting the roof of the Sistine Chapel with God's touch of life as the center of our masterpieces when we're just starting out. Make a simple crucifix cross that doesn't have the body of Jesus on it. Carving a small man will be much too hard for the first time - just use a simple Christian cross like the one below. Don't get too fancy too early. Remember, it's the thought that counts. Sometimes you'll want to use the fish design that's a very common symbol in western cultures because Jesus was a fisherman or men and fed and clothed the poor by teaching them to fish and turning water into wine.

The size and type is important also. You don't want anything to be too big or too small. The size of the person is important to remember. If you're buying or getting a Christian necklace for yourself think about the way you look. If you get a necklace that's really large and you are very small or have a small neck area it will look weird because it will make your neck look even smaller. You want the jewelry to make your face and neck look better not look worse. Don't forget that a lot of times you can exchange stuff. Save the box that it came in and the receipt. If you got a gift from someone else then you probably can't return the product. With some things like necklaces you can adjust the size. Rings come in different sizes too but can be harder to adjust. Christian watches can be adjusted to0 by taking out links. Adjusting the fit of a watch band is more like adjusting the necklace chain size than adjusting a ring.

Wholesale Christian jewelry is a great thing to look into if you want to save money. Although this usually involves buying in bulk or having a jewelers license don't worry because there are other ways to find discounts and good prices. Talk to people that you know that have business licenses and see if there's any way that they could use their connections to help you save on a necklace, ring, or whatever else you're shopping for. Be Christian-like in your approach and they'll appreciate how nice you are. Think about if there's anyone in your bible study that might be able to help you. This is a very good cause and one that others in your support circle should help you with. We want a fair system of equality so we have to help each other out as best we can and always practice what we preach. Perhaps you can exchange favors with anyone that can help you find a wholesale Christian outlets for men's or women's accessories.

In future entries I'll compare different Christian necklaces and other similar jewelry pieces so that my readers can make the right decisions about to get for their loved ones and themselves.
